The waterways of Kent were once described as ‘some of the most beautiful stretches of water, anywhere in the world.’ Take a look at our photo galleries to see why. Either click Here for a brief look of all our destinations, or scroll down for a more indepth view.
The River Medway
We've divided the river into 5 parts for ease of viewing…
1/ Tonbridge to Oak Weir Island - here you can enjoy lush riverbanks, the recently constructed fish passes which offer you a little white water fun, and the stunningly situated campsite of Oak Weir Island.
2/ Oak Weir Island to Yalding - there are more quiet, lush riverbanks here...
3/ Yalding to East Farleigh - there are stone bridges, hidden riverbank ruins and typically English views here...
4/ East Farleigh to Rochester - lots of birds here, and a feeling of space develops as the river widens and you pass the North Downs...
5/ Rochester to the North Sea - seals, birds, deserted islands, amazing sunsets, wrecks and ruins, this is a wild place (at one point the estuary is over 5 miles wide) full of adventure...
The River Stour
Here there are tranquil waters, a good mix of open horizon and heavy vegetation, and plenty of birds in nearby Stodmarsh as well as lots of seals near where the river meets the English Channel.
The Hythe Military Canal
Very quiet and clear waterway with good chances of spying Kingfisher and sometimes Otter.
Finally, here are a few examples of Pinhole Photographs. We can offer you free tuition in the pinhole process (and in darkroom technique if you are on an overnight Tour) on all Tours.
